Australia 2009: A Weekend In Sydney

This past weekend Maddy and I went to Sydney and it was incredible! It was just a short flight down there from the Gold Coast, about an hour, and then a twenty minute cab ride to the hotel in Circular Quay. We had an awesome hotel room with two double beds and view of Watson's Bay, the Sydney Botanical Gardens, and the Sydney Opera House. We arrived Friday afternoon, checked in and freshened up in the room, and then walked down to Circular Quay. We took pictures of the Harbour Bridge and walked to the Sydney Opera House to take more pics [separate post]. Then we walked to The Rocks, a shopping section of the city, and wandered in and out of the stores trying to avoid the rain. Maddy found a cool shirt which was bat-wing style so she [obviously] was referred to as "BAT MADDY!!!" for the rest of the weekend. She also found sleepwear which I dubbed her "House on the Prairie Nightie". That night we ordered delicious room service and ordered movies. I had a big salad followed by a pumpkin, chick pea, and green curry. The curry was probably the best curry I've ever had :) Maddy had a salad and then mushroom pasta. The next morning we woke up and had a cooked breakfast before heading to the pier. We took a ferry which sailed by the Opera House on the way to Toronga Zoo [separate post]. After the zoo we sailed back to Circular Quay and went to the room to chill. Maddy then went and met up with some old work colleagues from when she lived in Sydney before we had dinner and another movie fest. Sunday morning was another yummy breakfast before heading to the airport and flying home. I had so much fun and am so glad I got to see the city and make those memories with Maddy.
